Born in a small farmhouse on the Limestone Coast of south eastern South Australia, Robe Candle Co is an exploration of my creativity and love for beautifully scented surroundings, indoors and out.

 

The need for invigorating scents - to keep me focussed and motivated while working from home through the 2020 pandemic - led me to handmaking soy candles in small batches in my own kitchen. After sharing a couple of my creations with friends and family, seeing their faces light up with appreciation for a quality homemade gift, a vision within me was lit and a small business was born.

Always paying hommage to my beautiful beachside home town of Robe SA, the obelisk is proudly featured on the label of all candles. The red-and-white striped concrete monolith sits at the furthest rocky point of the harbour entrance as a landmark and safety beacon to boats. Just like certain scents will guide us back to places in our memories, the obelisk is the symbol of Robe, and home to me.
